These are my examples of the black and white sheets that were used to expose onto the screens. The idea here is to separate each color and then build it up in layers which is why I had to separate both the black and red from the lady birds.

I should probably mentioning that after completing my designs I went and prepared the screens by applying emulsion to them which by now should have been dried out and ready to use in order to expose my black lady birds designs. The emulsion used is light sensitive and will dry around anything that is not completely black which is why the designs need to be black. Once the screens are dry I placed the lady bird designs under the screen and then exposed UV light onto the screen which will expose and burn only the black onto the screen. This will later need to be washed off which is shown in the picture below.

As you can see from above you are just about able to see the designs appear through the mesh. Once this process is complete the screen needs to be dried once more ready for printing.
